After uninstalling and reinstalling the Dropbox desktop app I'm unable to open my files I uninstalled and re-installed dropbox in my laptop. Though all my earlier files and folders are seen I am unable to open any of these (excel word notepad pdf). I get a warning saying " file format or file extension is not valid" .

1) When I open (in Desktop app) Word document from Sharepoint and resize the table column widths >> save and close document >> Open Word document in Browser >> Then the table structure is totally broken in document opened in browser. Each and every table is broken into multiple pieces of rows.

WOPI Version of .xlsm files opening in Desktop App. Why is this happening? Hello With zero support from Dropbox Advanced support I'm hoping as a community anyone can provide some guidance. I have a user in my organization who in the desktop app cannot open and edit xlsm files no one else in our organization has this issue.

1) Is it possible to send a link to a shared dropbox file but have it directly open in Windows? E.g. click on dropbox link to user/dropbox/word.docx and it opens up in Microsoft Word directly? 2) Or have it open the folder in Windows (which can be easily opened directly in Word) as opposed to the web version of dropbox.

I am trying to edit a .docx file but am unable to both from the web browser and the word document itself. I have downloaded the Dropbox desktop app and am not able to edit it when opening from there either. The file shows that I have permission to edit the file but when I open it it will only open in "read only" mode.

Could you clarify for me: What you see when you hover over your Dropbox icon that's next to your computer's clock? A screenshot of this (without any personal info) would be very helpful. If you're trying to open them from the desktop app or Finder/Windows Explorer? Let me know what you find!

Dropbox Microsoft Office Online not working: Clicking "Open in Word for Web" results in preview I'm having trouble getting Microsoft Office Online to load properly. When I open a *.docx document as the preview and choose "Open with Word for Web" my browser opens a new tab and the loads the same *.docx file in the preview mode.

Word Online doesn't support all of the features or possible formatting that you get from the desktop version of the application. As such there can be some differences when moving a document between the two versions.

I am having issues with formatting NOT remaining the same from when I create a Word document locally (and saved on Dropbox app) to once it is being edited in Word for the Web. I have noticed that specific "Style" formatting in Word for Web doesn't match the formatting when viewing the document in Word itself.
